After a major reshuffling of classes in Nebraska football, the NSAA announced the release of the new district assignments on Thursday.

After taking second in C1 this past season, Boone Central/Newman Grove will stay put in the class. They have been assigned to C1-3, where they will take on the likes of Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, Pierce, Wayne and West Point-Beemer.

After four-straight state championships in 6-man football, Riverside makes the jump to 8-man. They will hit the field as part of the D2-4 district for the first time ever in 2018. They will be joined in their district by the likes of Elgin Public/Pope John, Humphrey St. Francis, Osmond, Plainview and Winside.

St. Edward will remain part of 6-man football, which goes back under NSAA regulation for the first time in two decades. They will be in the D6-1 district, along with Elba, Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family, Santee, Spalding Academy and Walthill.

Schedules for the 2018-19 cycle will be announced at a later date.
