The 33rd Annual Nebraska State Antique Tractor Show and Horse Plowing Bee is underway northwest of Petersburg. The festivities began late Friday afternoon as the Tractor Cade made its way into Rae Valley, where onlookers were able to enjoy a Cream Can Supper, followed by a Barn Dance.
The activities continue today, opening with the Antique Auction beginning at 9:00 am, and followed by working events, plowing, tractor games and a tractor pull.
A beautiful sunny morning greeted hundreds of visitors Saturday, who were able to take a step back in time and enjoy the the sights and sounds of the wide array of vintage machinery on hand, and take in the aromas of tractor-powered cedarwood planing, kettle corn, funnel cakes, and other savory foods on hand. Kids enjoyed tractor-powered rides, and a variety of vendors were on hand to entice the crowds with everything from antiques and hand crafted items to home decor. Several working Blacksmiths were also on hand to showcase their talents.
Today's activities continue with the "Parade of Power" at 4:00 pm, with a steam engine spark show ushering in the dusk, and another barn dance featuring the music of "Jam Session."
