Memorial Service for Thelma Krohn

Thelma R. Krohn, 93, of Albion, NE, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Bryan LGH-East Hospital, in Lincoln, NE.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2016 at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Fr. Stan Schmit officiating. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, June 19th from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. at the church with a 7:30 p.m. wake service. Levander Funeral Home of Albion in charge of arrangements.

Memorials are suggested to the donor’s choice.

Thelma Rose Krohn, the daughter of Michael and Cecilia (Reinhart) Krebs was born January 17, 1923 on a Wheeler County Ranch west of Petersburg, Nebraska. She graduated from Petersburg High School in 1939. Following a short time of work at Andres Store, she attended Van Sant Business College at Omaha, NE. Thelma worked at the Martin Bomber Plant in Omaha.

On April 18, 1942 Thelma was united in marriage to Edwin LeRoy Krohn at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Omaha. Following Ed’s medical discharge from the Army Signal Corp, they farmed west of Albion. In 1977 they moved to a small acreage west of Albion.

She worked at the Boone County Hospital from 1960 to 1970, then Staska Drilling, until retiring in 1986. Thelma was past president of St. Michael’s Altar Society, a member of Wolf Memorial Advisory Board, served on District #44 Election Counting Board, and Boone County Canvassing Board. She was a long time member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church where she served on the Finance Committee, a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary for 53 years, and member of Cancer Support Group. Thelma was an active bridge player with several bridge clubs.

Thelma was preceded in death by: her parents; husband Ed in 1982; granddaughter: Tiffany in 1991; three sisters: Dolores Kramer, Florence Samson, and Eileen Ryan; and two brothers: Kenneth and Art Krebs.

She is survived by three sons: Gary (Julie) Krohn and Dan (Barb) Krohn, all of Albion; David (Susanne) Krohn of Omaha, NE; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
