Funeral Services for Stanley Czarnik

Stanley Czarnik, 82 of St. Edward, NE, died Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, NE.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2015, at St. Edward Catholic Church in St. Edward, NE with Msgr. Ralph Steffensmeier officiating. Interment will follow at Krakow Cemetery in rural Genoa, NE with Military Rites conducted by the American Legion Crosier Post #226 of St. Edward, NE. Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. Friday at the church with a 7:30 p.m. Wake Service. Miller-Levander Funeral Home of St. Edward, NE is in charge of arrangements.

Stanley Anthony Czarnik, son of Charlie B. and Julia B. Swantek Czarnik, was born on a farm south of Genoa on April 18, 1933. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church at Krakow and received his education through the eighth grade at St. Peter & Paul Parochial school and District 39.

He farmed with his father until 1953 when he entered the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge in 1955, he worked for a box factory for several years. While working in Omaha, he also worked part-time as an usher at Rosenblatt Stadium. In the late 1950’s he rented a farm near Fullerton, Nebraska. In 1967 Stanley purchased a farm south of St. Edward and farmed there since.

He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church where he previously taught CCD classes, as well as served as a Lector and Canter. He loved music and played the accordion for many years.

Stanley is survived by two sisters: Lucille M. Diekman and Margaret P. Czarnik, both of Omaha, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother Harry; 2 sisters Kathleen Micek and Julia Jonas.
