Funeral Services for Rosella G. Lautenschlager

Rosella G. Lautenschlager, 84 of Albion, NE passed away Monday, September 21, 2015 at her home.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Levander Funeral Home in Albion, NE with Rev. Larry Barbary officiating. Following services, her body will be cremated and private family burial will take place at a later date at the Orchard Cemetery in Orchard, NE. Levander Funeral Home of Albion is in charge of arrangements.

Rosella Gay Lautenschlager, daughter of Floyd R. and Helen A. (Marshall) Gibbs, was born January 10, 1931 on a farm near Orchard, NE. She was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Clearwater, NE, attended a rural Antelope County grade school and graduated from Orchard High School in 1949.

Rosella married William “Bill” Keith Thelander on June 12, 1949 at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Orchard, NE. They lived several different places in the Orchard area while Rosella was a homemaker and raised their six children: Patricia, Bridget, Roxann, Synda, Ronda and Gina.

In 1975, Rosella and Bill separated and Rosella moved to Albion, NE. She worked at the Boone County Courthouse, Albion Thriftyway, Gragert's IGA, JC Pennys, provided daycare out of her home and was a caregiver to Mrs. Lehr. In the mid-1980’s Rosella met Earl Miller and in 1988, moved to the farm in the Akron, NE area with Earl. They lived on the farm until moving to the Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Cottages at Albion in January 2013.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the Boone County Quilters. She enjoyed making and painting porcelain villages for her family, quilts for her children and grandchildren, reading, working puzzles and sewing. She was an excellent seamstress, making clothing for her and her family.

Rosella is survived by her life companion Earl Miller of Albion; six children: Patricia Blakely of Lincoln; Bridget Larson of Omaha; Roxann Thelander and Dwight of Vidor, TX; Synda Palmer and Joe of Clear Lake, IA; Ronda Seipert of Long Beach, CA; Gina Schafer of Mason City, IA; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother Galan Gibbs and Alta of Orchard, NE; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Todd William in infancy, two brothers: Lyle and Verlyn Gibbs; and a sister Lora Dee Maxwell.
