Rita M. Watts, 86 of Cedar Rapids, NE passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the Boone County Health Center in Albion, NE
 
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, NE with Msgr. Ralph Steffensmeier officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, NE.  Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the church with a 7:00 p.m. Wake Service.  Visitation will resume Thursday at 9:00 a.m. at the church.
 
Levander Funeral Home of Cedar Rapids, NE is in charge of the arrangements.

Rita Mae Watts, the daughter of Martin and Clara (Schmitz) Rutten was born on January 10, 1931 on a farm west of Albion.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, NE.  Rita attended St. Anthony’s Catholic School through the 8th grade.
            
On October 25, 1949 Rita was united in marriage to Robert Watts at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids, NE.   The couple lived in the Cedar Rapids area.   Rita enjoyed sewing and making quilts, reading and tending to her flowers.

           
She is survived by her husband Bob of Cedar Rapids, NE; two sons: Bobby “Bunky” (Joan) and Bill both of Cedar Rapids, NE; one granddaughter Amy (Lonnie) Meyer of Bertrand, NE; two great-grandchildren: Jacob and Jordan Hilmer of Bertrand, NE; brother Ray (Barb) Rutten of Omaha, NE; two sisters: Marlene Wilson of Merrillville, IN; Veronica (Harold) Pfeifer of Cedar Rapids, NE; sister-in-law Ernie Rutten of Cedar Rapids, NE; along with many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

            
Rita was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Christopher Watts; three brothers: Maurice, Chic, and Mark Rutten; two sisters: Angela Koziol and Georgie Robinson.
