Funeral Services For Naomi Isabel O'Dey Hoff

Funeral services for Naomi Isabel O'Dey Hoff, age 92 of Tilden, Nebraska, will be Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Fellowship Hall in Tilden.  John Petersen and Pastor Leon Rosenthal will officiate with burial in Tilden City Cemetery.


Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden.

She died Saturday, April 8, 2017, at her home in Tilden.

Naomi Isabel (Patrick) O'Dey Hoff daughter of Merrill L. and Lotus I. (Plumb) Patrick, was born February 2, 1925 on a farm near Closter, Nebraska. She grew up with her brother on the family farm west of Closter. Naomi was baptized and confirmed at Rose Hill Free Mission Church southeast of Closter.

​Naomi attended school at Closter through the 11th grade and graduated from Tilden High School with the class of 1942. Following graduation she was employed at Gambles and the Council Oak grocery store in Tilden.

On March 31, 1944 Naomi married Ivan Guy O'Dey at the First Christian Church in Belleville, Kansas, the home of her grandmother Marie “Mary” Bambauer. Naomi and Ivan farmed on the home place southeast of Tilden and raised one son Stanley.

Naomi was a member to the United Brethren Church and served as president of the Ladies Society and also superintendent of the Sunday School. She was a charter member of the Baker's Dozen extension club. Also Past Noble Grand of the Rebekah Lodge and member of the TAO club.
Naomi and Ivan moved into Tilden in 1986 where she was employed at the Tilden Community Hospital. Ivan passed away October 4, 1989.

She then was employed at the Community Pride Care Center in Battle Creek and later moved to Norfolk. She joined the First Christian Church where she and Jack Hoff were married on November 19, 1999.

Naomi “Pat” enjoyed reading her Bible, dancing and playing cards. She had many friends and was a loving mother and grandmother.

​Naomi is survived by her son Stan (Nancy) O'Dey of Tilden; four grandsons, Mike (Michelle) O'Dey of Howells, Mark O'Dey, and Brian O'Dey both of Tilden, and Brad (Tracy) O'Dey and their sons, Jordan, Tristan, and Tanner all of Columbus, Nebraska; several nieces, and one nephew.

Naomi was preceded in death by her parents Merrill and Lotus Patrick; first husband, Ivan in 1989; second husband, Jack in 2009; brother, Gene Patrick; two nephews; and one niece.
