Funeral Services For Loretta Fields

Funeral services for Loretta Fields, age 89, of Newman Grove, Nebraska will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at Peace United Church of Christ in Tilden, Nebraska. Pastor Theta Dame will officiate, with burial in Tilden City Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden, Nebraska.

Loretta died Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at Mid Nebraska Lutheran Home in Newman Grove.

Loretta Jean Fields, daughter of John and Katherine Kaiser, was born in Texas on April 26, 1928. She was always known as a preacher’s daughter and moved to many locations during her childhood years. In 1940, Loretta’s family moved to Tilden, Nebraska, where she attended Tilden High School and graduated in 1945. October 27, 1946, she was united in marriage to Ralph Fields at Fairbury, Nebraska. They were blessed with two children, Kenneth R. Fields and Kathleen M. (Fields) Gladem. The couple resided and enjoyed life on the Fields family farm three miles south and two miles west of Tilden until July 17, 1991. Loretta and Ralph then moved into Tilden until the fall of 2007, when after Ralph’s passing, Loretta moved to the Albion Assisted Living. In 2009, Loretta moved to Mid Nebraska Lutheran Home where she resided until her passing.

Loretta was a member of Peace United Church of Christ. Her enjoyments in her life were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed singing in the church choir, being a housewife, and spending time with friends in various clubs and playing cards.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen and husband, John of Albion, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Amy Simon and husband Shannon of Bucyrus, Kansas, Tonja Jasinski and husband, Scott of Lincoln, Nebraska, Tancy Laughridge and husband, Randy of Fremont, Nebraska, Christopher Fields of California, and Michael Fields of Omaha, Nebraska; great-grandchildren, Kylie Fisher of Omaha, Jaden Fisher, Parker Simon, and Brecken Simon all of Bucyrus, Kansas, and Everett Laughridge of Fremont; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; husband, Ralph; son, Kenneth Fields; and daughter-in-law, Karma Fields.
