Leila Tiede, 92, formerly of Albion, NE died Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at The Waterford at Wilderness Hills in Lincoln, NE.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2015 at Levander Funeral Home in Albion, NE with Pastor Adrian Atkins officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Petersburg, Nebraska. Visitation will be Friday, one hour prior to services at Levander Funeral Home in Albion, NE.

Leila Joanne Tiede, daughter of John and Jessamine (Richards) Weaver, was born July 5, 1923 in Elm Creek, Nebraska. She received her education at Overton High School, graduating in 1941. She then received her teaching certificate from Kearney State College and taught at schools in Wyoming, Washington and Nebraska.

On March 7, 1954, Leila was united in marriage to Frederick H. Tiede in Grand Island, Nebraska. They made their home on a farm west of Loretto. Leila was a loving housewife and mother, staying home and helping her husband on the farm and raising their two daughters, Margaret and Becky. They continued to live on the farm until 2011, when they moved into Albion due to health complications. Fred passed away on December 2, 2012. Leila later moved to Lincoln to be near her daughters.

Leila was a lifelong member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She enjoyed playing her guitar and would always share with her family how she played for a country school program when she was teaching, and received a standing applause as her father looked on with a proud smile.

Leila is survived by her two daughters: Margaret Erickson and Becky (Leonard) Akert, all of Lincoln, NE; four grandchildren: Kevin (Jeaneen) Erickson of Lincoln, NE; Sarah (Jonathan) Carlson of Bentonville, AR; Brian (Liz) Akert of Papillion, NE; and Brandon Akert and fiancé Kaylen Fleming of Lincoln, NE; two great-grandchildren: Cooper Erickson of Lincoln, NE and Kate Carlson of Bentonville, AR, along with other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Fred.
