Funeral Services For Glenn Nelson

Glenn D. Nelson 86 of Newman Grove, NE passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at the Mid-Nebraska Lutheran Home in Newman Grove, NE. 
At his request, there will be no services. Glenn donated his remains to the Anatomical Board of Nebraska for medical research. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Trinity Lutheran Church of Newman Grove Nebraska.

Glenn D. Nelson, the son of LeRoy L. and Anna H. (Tonning) Nelson was born December 14, 1930, in Newman Grove, the son of Anna and Leroy Nelson. Glenn graduated from Newman Grove High School in 1947.

He entered the military in 1948. During his 23 years in uniform, he served in the Air Force, Navy and Army. After retiring, he settled in Lincoln, Missouri. He returned to school and earned an Associate of Science Degree in Agriculture.

He was blessed to have two wonderful women in his life. In 1959, he married Sue Shaw. They remained happily married until her death in 1983. In 1988, he married Elva Nelson. Elva and Glenn were devoted to each other until her death in April of this year.

In 1988, he returned to Newman Grove after his marriage to Elva. He and Elva were members of Trinity Lutheran Church of Newman Grove. They enjoyed traveling and visiting family and friends.

He is survived by six children; Sue Lutjen, Glen Nelson (Cathie), Randle Broberg (Nilda), Deborah Matson, Patricia Quillen, Laura Gillespie (Brian); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his spouses, he was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Donovan and sister, Betty Holy.
