Funeral Services for Fay E. Cruise

Fay E. Cruise, 96 of St. Edward, Nebraska passed away Saturday, August 22, 2015 at Boone County Health Center in Albion, NE.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in St. Edward, NE with Pastor Vern Olson officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in St. Edward. Visitation will be 6-8pm Tuesday at the church. Miller-Levander Funeral Home of St Edward is in charge of arrangements.

Fay Eldon Cruise, the son of Guy and Edith (Condreay) Cruise was born on June 20, 1919 southwest of St. Edward, Nebraska. He attended District 54, Mt. Echo school through the eighth grade when he returned to the farm to help his father.

On February 3, 1940, he was united in marriage to Eleanor Draeger. To this union, four sons were born: Ron, Bob, Denny, and Larry. They made their home on a farm near St. Edward where they farmed and raised purebred Angus cattle. In 1969 they moved into St. Edward but continued to farm until retiring in 1985. Fay enjoyed the cattle, farming in general, camping in their motor home, and was a member of the United Methodist Church. In April of 2014, Fay entered Cloverlodge Care Center where he resided until his death.

He is survived by his four sons: Ron and wife Jan of St. Edward; Bob and wife Charlotte of Columbus; Denny and wife Shelley and Larry and wife Anita Cruise all of St. Edward; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law: Frances Draeger; brother-in-law Leon and wife Gayle Draeger; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Fay was preceded in death by his parents; wife Eleanor; two sisters: Clarisa and husband Kenneth Stevens and Opal and husband Joe Touchstone; brother: Marvin and wife Clarice Cruise; brother-in-law: Evan and wife Ruth Draeger; sister-in-law: Ferneen and husband Eldon Furby; and brother-in-law: Harold Draeger.
