Funeral Services For Eileen Bittner

Eileen Bittner, 89 of Albion, NE, died Monday, September 28, 2015 at Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, NE.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE, with Rev. David Frerichs officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion, NE. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion, NE.

Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church, Albion.

Eileen Mae (Molt) Bittner was born May 28, 1926, oldest daughter of Glen and Christena (Hemmingsen) Molt, on the family farm west of Primrose. She went to grade school District #4 in Greeley County and to Primrose High School, graduating in 1943.

Eileen was united in marriage to Robert Bittner on March 21, 1948 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Grand Island, NE. The couple lived on their farm where they raised their four children, a daughter Janice (Klassen) and three sons, Steven, Keith and Randall. Bob and Eileen moved to Albion on September 16, 2005.

Eileen loved to garden, cook and bake and make quilts, making each one of her children and grandchildren a quilt. She was a history buff, keeping family history and helped on the Zion Lutheran Church history for 10 years. She was also a group co-chairman on the church serving groups and helped tie quilts at Zion.

She enjoyed many years of traveling with her husband Robert, her embroidery work and the challenge of puzzle books. She was a caring mother and a loving grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Howard and Marvin Molt; brother-in-law Delaine Briese and sister-in-law, Lynette Molt

She is survived by her husband Robert of Albion; a daughter Janice (Merle) Klassen of Albion; three sons: Steven Bittner and Keith (Mary) Bittner, all of Albion, and Randall Bittner of Long Pine, NE; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marge Briese of Albion; two sisters-in-law Kathryn (Molt) Sojka of Albion and Marjorie Johnson of Broken Bow.
