Funeral Services For David Stuhlmiller

David C. Stuhlmiller, 79, of St. Edward, NE, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at his home in St. Edward, NE following a short illness.
 
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday August 16, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in St. Edward, NE with Rev. Vern Olson officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in St. Edward, NE with Military Rites conducted by the Crosier American Legion Post #226 and VFW of St. Edward, NE along with the United States Air Force, and American Legion Riders. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
 
Miller-Levander Funeral Home of St. Edward, NE is in charge of arrangements. 

David C. Stuhlmiller, the son of Don and Doris (Powley) Stuhlmiller was born on October 10, 1937 in Buffalo, NY.  Following graduation from Kenmore High School in Buffalo in 1955, David attended Lafayette College.  In October of 1957 he joined the United States Air Force.  He served 21 years and retired in January of 1979. 
            
While stationed at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, David was united in marriage to Kathleen Weldon on January 21, 1961 at a Presbyterian Church in Omaha, NE.  To this union two children were born.  The couple lived in Japan, California, Germany and Texas, before they settled back in St. Edward, NE.  Following David’s retirement from the Air Force he worked for Lindsay Manufacturing in Lindsay, NE for 25 years, and then the Magnus Corporation in Fremont, NE for 12 years.

            
David was a member of the Crosier American Legion Post #226 and the VFW in St. Edward.  He enjoyed fishing, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with his family.

            
He is survived by his wife Kathleen; daughter Lorrie (Jim) Nicklasson; son Scott Stuhlmiller all of St. Edward, NE; three grandchildren: Kyle (fiancée Maxine) of Monroe, NE, Shannon of Hastings, NE, and Katie of Winnebago, IL; two great-grandchildren: Kenzie and Reid; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

            
David was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Don Stuhlmiller.
