Funeral Services For Charles L. Moore

Charles L. Moore, 86 of Albion, NE passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the Boone County Health Center in Albion, NE. 

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 13, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE, with Rev. David Frerichs officiating. Military rites will be by American Legion Post #162 and VFW Post #736 of Albion, NE. Interment will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Island, NE. Visitation will be from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Sunday at Levander Funeral Home in Albion, NE.

Charles Lee Moore, the son of Leo and Ardythe (Schulz) Moore, was born August 10, 1929 at Central City, NE. Charles attended grade school in Chapman, NE, junior high in Central City, NE, and high school in Albion, NE. Following his schooling, Charles worked as a Maytag Repairman for the family business as well as driving a propane gas truck. 

On April 5, 1951 Charles was drafted into the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War until being honorably discharged on January 5, 1953. Following his military service, Charles worked for Staska Drilling for 28 years. After his retirement from Staska Drilling, Charles worked seasonal jobs for Coash and Helena Chemical. He was a member of the American Legion Post #162 and VFW Post #736 of Albion.

Charles is survived by his sister: Ramona Spiegel of Albion, NE; special cousin: Richard Wood of Grand Island, NE; nieces and nephews: Becky (Jim) Olnes; Jason (Amy) Olnes and children Taylor, Avery, and Dalton; Shawn (Amber) Olnes and children Blake, Kayden, and Harper, all of Albion, NE; Michelle (Chris) Tomjack and children Calli, and Breckyn of Chambers, NE; Brandy (Jason) Trummer of Omaha, NE; Kristy (Erick) McCready and children Hailea, and Colton of Belgrade, NE; and neice-in-law: Linda Spiegel of Albion, NE.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather: Cecil Haugh; brother-in-law: Bob Spiegel; and nephew: Dave Spiegel.
