Funeral Services For Carolyn Schoening

Carolyn Jane Schoening 87, of Albion, NE, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017, at the Central City Care Center in Central City, NE.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Zion Lutheran Church of Albion, NE, with Rev. David Frerichs officiating.  Burial will be at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Albion, NE.  Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, at Levander Funeral Home of Albion, NE.  In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association, Zion Lutheran Church, or the donor’s choice.

Carolyn Jane Schoening, the daughter of Vern and Christine (Parker) Case was born on October 31, 1930 at St. Edward, NE.  She attended school in St. Edward.  Following her schooling she worked as a waitress.

On September 19, 1962 Jane was united in marriage to Galen Schoening at Yankton, SD.  They resided in Albion where Jane worked as a housewife and homemaker.

She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Albion, NE and sang in the choir there.  Jane was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.  She loved to spend time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.  Jane also enjoyed her time with her family hunting and fishing.

She is survived by her five children: Dan (Rose) Schoening of Sidney, NE; Jim (Sue) Schoening of Columbus, NE; Phyllis (Larry) Gleich of Yankton, SD; Carolyn (Ed) Kristine of Plymouth, MN; and Randy (Judy) Forinash of Ida Grove, IA; four grandchildren: Bryan (Brooke) Schoening of Sidney, NE; Tyler Schoening of Grand Island, NE; Jenna and Morgan Schoening of Lincoln, NE; two great grandchildren: Zella and Audrey; three brothers: Sam (Jane) Case of Columbus, NE; Charles (Dolores) Case of Columbus, NE; Michael (Phyllis) Case of El Mirage, AZ; sister Norma Case of St. Edward, NE; three brothers-in-law: Clinton Gates of Columbus, NE; Norman Elstermeier of Grand Island, NE; Bud Kennedy of Grand Island, NE; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, husband Galen, brothers: Gerald, Robert, James, Vern Jr., Donald, and Freddy Case; sisters: Elizabeth Valdamar, Eleanor Johnson, Ann Emigh, Nadine Ennis, and Jean Gates.
