Funeral Services For Betty A. Rimovsky

Betty A. Rimovsky, 86, of St. Edward, NE, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Crown Villa Apartments in Columbus, NE. 

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in St. Edward, NE with Pastor Vern Olson officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in St. Edward. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Miller-Levander Funeral Home in St. Edward.

Miller-Levander Funeral Home of St. Edward, NE is in charge of arrangements.

Betty Arlene (Goin) Rimovsky, the daughter of Alvin Russell and Atta Mae (Goin) Goin, was born August 31, 1929 at Albion, Nebraska. Betty was baptized and confirmed at the First Baptist Church, Albion, NE and graduated from the Albion Public Schools in 1947.

Betty was united in marriage to Leon Rimovsky on August 24, 1947 at the First Baptist Church in Albion, NE. They lived and raised their family in St. Edward where she was a member of the Methodist/Presbyterian Church. In 2014 Betty moved to the Crown Villa Apartments in Columbus, NE. 

Betty enjoyed being a homemaker, writing news for the St. Edward Advance, and being a clerk at Koerber’s Grocery store. She and Leon owned and operated the Frostee Treet for 16 years, where she was known and loved as the “Frostee Lady”. She later worked at BD Medical in Columbus for 10 years. 

Besides her love for her family, Betty loved to dance. She and Leon’s first date was to a street dance where their love for dancing continued through the years. They belonged to many dance clubs and traveled with friends to out of town dances, particularly with dear friends Pepper and Roma Martin. 

Surviving Betty are her two daughters: Toni (David) Estrada of Austin, Tx; Carlotta (Marlin) Svitak of Columbus, NE; son: Russell Rimovsky of Lincoln, NE; six grandchildren: Tammy (Paul) Bendell of Winnemucca, NV; Ronnie (Theresa) Grape; and Jenny Grape all of Columbus, NE; Joshua (Paula Egr) Grape of Bellwood, NE; Dusty Rimovsky of Lincoln, NE; and Jandy (Cameron) Day of Aliso Viejo, CA; eight great-grandchildren: Tristan Kunze-Grape, Kasten Grape, Kasen Grape, Kysen Grape, and Kohlsen Grape , all of Columbus, NE; Colten Ray, and Jada Grape, of Bellwood, NE; and Desler Day of Aliso Viejo, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Leon in 2006; brothers: Frank, Glen and Donald Goin; and sister LaVoye Olsen.
