In year three under Jeff Schwartz, the Riverside Lady Chargers volleyball team looks to continue building themselves into a top team.

After winning just six games in 2014, the Lady Chargers nearly tripled that total in 2015, winning 17. They return a strong core of players, including junior Maddie Walkowiak, who recorded 154 kills last season. Kallie Bloom, who coach Schwartz called his most athletic girl, also topped the 100 kill mark last season with 113.

Riverside takes the court with high hopes for the first match on September 1 as they head to the Central Valley Triangular.

2016 Outlook: "Overall we bring a lot of talent back.  If we find the right type of leadership overall we will be in a good situation. We are a team who will win games by playing good defense and serving aggressive." - coach Jeff Schwartz. The Lady Chargers have improved every year and bring back some incredibly gifted athletes. They should break the 20-win mark and make a run at the playoffs in 2016.

The Riverside Chargers football team has been the cream of the crop for six-man football ever since their first season in 2014, winning two straight state championships and only losing one game.

Look for more of the same in 2016, as coach Joe Imus returns his do-everything man in Noah Valasek. Valasek has lead the Chargers in both of their championship seasons, scoring points with his arm and legs by the dozens. Along with sophomore Ty Martinsen, Valasek is a member of one of the most dangerous backfields, not just in six-man, but all of Nebraska high school football.

The Chargers begin their quest for a third straight championship September 2 as they take on Wilcox-Hildreth in Wilcox.
