The Riverside Chargers had high hopes of making their first-ever trip to the state tournament after a spectacular season.

Unfortunately, a determined Hampton squad stood in their way.

The Hawks took down Riverside in straight sets, 25-21, 25-15, 25-16 to advance to the state tournament.

Maddie Walkowiak recorded 10 kills and seven digs on the night. She was often set up by Baylee Wlaschin, who finished with 23 assists.

Unfortunately, despite their strong offensive efforts, the Chargers struggled against Hampton's serving, allowing nine aces on the night.

The loss likely ends the Chargers' season at 22-10. The 22 wins is the most in the schools three-year history, topping last year's 17 wins.
