A 36-year old man faces numerous charges including domestic assault after he was arrested following a four-hour long manhunt by authorities. Captain Paul Hattan with the Nebraska State Patrol Troop B office in Norfolk says the Nance County Sheriff’s office received a call about a possible domestic assault at the Broken Arrow Wilderness Campground in Fullerton shortly after 2 a.m. Friday morning. Upon arriving at the scene, authorities could not locate the suspect and found the female victim with numerous injuries. The suspect, later identified as Charles C. Campsie, had fled the area on foot but was later located by authorities at the campground at around 6:30 a.m. Friday. and taken into custody. The female victim was taken to a local hospital and then transported to a Lincoln hospital and is currently in serious, but stable condition. Several state troopers and K-9 units were dispatched in the search. It’s unclear where Campsie is from, although it appears he had been staying at the campground for around two weeks according to Captain Hattan. |
