A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect in Boone County, but a much bigger storm remains about 48 hours away.

The current advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Up to four inches of snow fell overnight throughout the county, but less than an inch of snow is expected throughout Saturday afternoon. Patchy freezing drizzle is possible, but most precipitation is expected to end by early afternoon.

Overnight, the wind will blow between 17-23 mph out of the north-northwest with gusts up to 32 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Winds will gust up to 26 mph on Sunday.

Another storm is expected on Monday and is predicted to drop up to eight inches of snow. More details on Monday's storm will be released as it nears.
