St. Michael's Students Receive End-of-Year Awards

Several students at St. Michael's School in Albion were the recipients of various awards recently.

Big Red Stars recognizes Nebraska’s best & brightest 8th grade students for their high academic achievement, school & community participation, and service. Students are nominated for this award by their teachers and administration. 

Big Red Stars Award: McKenna Book and Anna Hamling

The President’s Award for Educational Excellence is awarded to a student who has shown excellent academic achievement and has a middle school grade point average of 94 or above.  The student must be highly motivated, show initiative, and possess integrity, intellectual depth, leadership qualities, good judgment and outstanding academic achievement.  They must demonstrate a positive attitude in class, be respectful of students and staff and have a desire to learn and excel. 

2015 President's Excellence Award: Ethan Dozler

Perfect Attendance awards were given to:  Anna Hamling, Gage Groeteke, Gavin Dozler, Tessa Hamling, Averie Luettel & Connor Christo

Every quarter, teachers nominate one student from their classroom that has made a concerted effort to raise their grades, made social advances or some other personal achievement.  These nominations are then entered into a drawing for a medal of honor from Fas-Break Auto. St. Michael's School would like to recognize the following students for their achievements during the 4th quarter of the school year.  

4th Quarter winner: Louis Hoppe

4th Quarter classroom nominees for achievements at St. Michael's School - Albion:
Kindergarten - Ashlynn Naber - hard worker who takes her time and does a great job
1st - Miranda McGill - very responsible, friendly & hard worker
2nd - Averie Luettel - doesn't hesitate to ask questions, is kind to all classmates, helps out in the classroom & is a hard worker
3rd - Britney Naber - caring, polite classmate who works hard in school and on her school work at home
4th - Jackson Roberts - has shown greater effort this quarter.  His grades, study habits & desire to do well have improved
5th - Rachel Malander - works hard, demonstrates leadership & responsibility, & has excellent study habits
6th - Ryan Kramer - has increased his willingness to be helpful, asks for more responsibility, and follows through with tasks
7th - Nic Gonzales - always willing to help others and has a positive attitude when doing it
8th - Weston Choat - Gets his work done on time & is a role model to his peers
Music - Carter Henry - demonstrates vocal leadership in choir
Band - Rachel Malander - sets a wonderful example with her work ethic & leadership
PE - Louis Hoppe - has improved in all areas of movement, shows great interest in being active & never hesitates to try something new.
Art - Taylor Beierman - does great art work, helps others and always has a smile on her face
