Could a walk-on freshman from Albion be returning kicks for the Nebraska football team this fall?
Head Coach Mike Riley said after practice Wednesday that the competition for kickoff returners is wide open, saying they’re taking a look at senior running back Terrell Newby and sophomore running back Mikale Wilbon.
But Riley says don’t count out a certain former all-state performer from Boone Central/Newman Grove.
“We’re looking hard at Wyatt Mazour,” Riley said. “He was such a productive player in high school and he’s got some of those characteristics that look good.”
Mazour red-shirted last season and worked on the scout team in 2015 after being named an all-state quarterback twice for the Cardinals.
