The Healthy Back in Albion uses a technique that many are just starting to hear about, but it is not actually new at all.

“Its all eastern medicine that’s why it’s all coming here now.”

Amy Flannagan owns the Healthy Back in Albion and has been doing a technique called “cupping” for 5 years now.

She starts with something called “Grass” and “Guasha” that breaks up the scar tissue.

“The more red dots the worse and more chronic it usually is,” Flanagan explained. “It makes healing literally, like 20 times faster.”

The whole point of cupping, is to heal the tissue from the inside out.

“You can let it sit for 6 weeks and maybe it would get better, but this is going to make it get better in only a few treatments instead of weeks of not doing anything.”

There are different technique to cupping  including “fire cupping” which requires two people and some heat.

But any type of cupping usually requires a few sessions for results, and each session is proof to the healing.

“She would come in a couple of days, we would do it again and there would not be as much and so we know it is actually healing.”

Flanagan says that having a cupping kit at home could be very beneficial and she recommended taking classes on how it works.
