After a strong start in the Class C State Tournament, Albion seemed to have lots of momentum. That momentum finally ran out Tuesday, however.

After dropping their first game of the tournament on Monday, Albion was in an elimination situation Tuesday in a rematch with Creighton.

Creighton came flying out of the gate, scoring four runs in the first and two in the second to take a 6-0 lead after two innings. They added one run in the fourth before a three-run Devin Geiseman home run in the seventh gave Creighton a 10-0 lead.

Albion couldn't find an answer for Creighton pitcher Ryan Newman, who held Albion scoreless for the game on only four hits. Albion also committed three errors while Creighton had four errors of their own.

Kyle Kramer took the loss for Albion.

The loss ends Albion's season after an area tournament championship and a deep run in the state tournament.
