The Albion Seniors started fast and never looked back in the first round of the Class C State Tournament in Ainsworth.

Albion jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first inning over West Point. They plated two more runs in the second to push the lead to 4-1. In the third, Albion scored three runs before scoring another in the fourth to make the score 8-1.

Albion slammed the door on West Point in the fifth thanks to a Keaton Henry three-run homerun. West Point was unable to counter in the bottom of the inning, giving Albion an 11-1 win thanks to the 10-run mercy rule.

Noah Valasek earned the win on the mound for Albion.

The win allows Albion to move on to the second round against Creighton on Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
